Looking to boost your self confidence? When we are getting down on ourselves we often look for outside validation. This super fun self esteem journal exercise taps into that need - while making sure that the validation is super positive. Plus it is the perfect way to celebrate yourself and your fabulous qualities.
I call it the 'Big Me Up' journal exercise!
The 'Big Me Up’ journal exercise is such a creative way to build self-esteem and boost your self confidence and I can’t wait to share it with you! Grab a notebook or journal and give it a try.
This is one of the first exercises I usually do in a new journal or bullet journal – and it works great on a corkboard too. It is a fabulous way to keep self-esteem and confidence high – and give yourself a boost when you need it.
To do the exercise you will need a double page spread in your journal, some scissors and glue – and some time. Don’t rush it. Just add to the page as, and when you can.
Got your page ready? Great. Write in big letters at the top 'I AM'.
Next we are going to go looking for the most 'fabulous big me up’ snippets we can find and add them to the spread.
You know those ‘What Your Name Means, and ‘Find Your Birth Number’ quizzes you see all over social media? Ever been curious? Well, just for today you are going to take a look. Google your birth sign, your Celtic sign, your Chinese Zodiac sign, the meaning of your name, your birth number, your favorite color and so on.
You don’t need to be a believer. We are just going to have some fun with it.
When you have some results, print out or write only THE BEST parts. The parts that make you think ‘Hell, Yes!’. The snippets that tell you just how awesome-sauce you are. The parts your best friend would snort at but secretly you know they are completely true! If they give you a glow, they are in. If they even hint at being negative they are out.
Here are some examples from my journal page-
Meaning of Julie – You are honest, benevolent, brilliant and often inventive, full of high inspirations.
Gemini – Quick thinking, quick witted, adaptable, curious, clever.
Celtic Sign (Hawthorn) – They carry fiery passions and inexhaustible creative flame.
Chinese Sign (Snake) – Charming, popular, irresistible. lucky with money, wise.
Can you see me smiling :)
Got yours? Cut them out and add them to the page. You can also add your favorite ‘I am’ affirmations and any compliments you can remember receiving. Positive words will really help too.
This is a great page to turn to when you are feeling a bit down on yourself. It might seem a little silly exercise but believe me - it is a very powerful self esteem exercise.
When you collect all those great quotes about how fantastic you are together on one page, it is going to boost your self confidence, build self-esteem and make you feel fantastic.
You are awesome – isn’t it great to be reminded of that!
Like this? I would love it if you would share!
